Follow Christ to the Promised Land

God invites all of us to enter and live life abundant in the Promised Land. Do we know how to get there?

The book of Exodus tells us the Promised Land flows richly with milk and honey.

Today this means to us a place of rest, peace and joy.

Moses led God’s chosen people forty years thorough the desert in search of the Promised Land.

The Lord’s parted the red sea and delivered them from Egypt.

Yet they still were not at ease murmuring and complaining.

Their journey through the desert into the Promised Land should have taken 11 days.

The wrong mindset lengthened their trip forty years.

Moses the leader God chose to deliver his people from bondage.

He too like the rest except for Joshua and Caleb were not allowed to enter into the Promised Land.

Moses who over and over again did what was asked of him.

When striking the rock for the second time he did not follow the specific instructions the Lord gave Him forfeiting the means to enter in.

Joshua and Caleb believed and followed God completely enabling them to enter.

Whatever obstacle was seen or giants they faced was not as big to them as what God had said.

Their belief in God’s Word was greater and therefore conquered all that was against them.

It was their deliberate obedience and faith that got them there.

Although Moses did not lose his salvation and received eternal life he did not arrive at the Promised Land filled with joy and peace.

It is the same for us today our eternal life is promised and sealed.

However quite often the abundant life available is not in use.

The Lord wants to lead each of us out of (the desert) our spiritual bondage and into His peace and joy the Promised Land.

As we just seen the only way in is with complete trust and obedience in the Word.

Let us follow all of God’s commands in order that we receive all of His blessings.

Enjoying peace, joy and rest in Him. Amen

Securing Victory when facing trouble

Staying close to God and not the details of the trial is our path to victory! When trouble comes secure a triumphant outcome and Walk in the Spirit, not the flesh. React by focusing on the Lord and not allow the scorching trial that has come to steal all that is good. It is your faith and identity in Christ the enemy has come for.
In Christ, we have a Redeemer. In Christ, every problem is covered. In Christ, each life is valued and paid for. Centered in Christ, we are authorized to cast our care on the Lord and not be overwhelmed by the natural concerns of the matter. It is harmful to concentrate on the bad and chance quenching the Spirit. We are to be Spiritual Minded using weapons of warfare. Our faith and prayers have power to overcome and out maneuver the plans of the enemy. God is good and greater than any problem or sickness and disease that exists. The faithful receive His Strength and Power! Remaining in Christ we are Victorious!!!
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amid the tornado wreckage in Mississippi, a Bible is left untouched

(CNN)When a tornado battered southern Mississippi over the weekend, it yanked trees off the ground and tore through buildings at William Carey University.

When staffers combed the campus, sifting through the damage, they said they happened upon a stunning scene: An open Bible on the pulpit of the campus church, undisturbed by the surrounding debris.

The open page from Psalm 46, the staffers said, read: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Rick Wilemon, an adjunct art instructor at the private Christian college, snapped some photos of the Bible as it was found in the otherwise-damaged Bass Chapel after the EF-3 tornado hit Hattiesburg.
“No building was left untouched,” Wilemon told CNN. “So many appear to be total losses.”
Wilemon said the Bible was a fixture in the chapel. And the condition it was found in has bolstered the spirits of the campus — and beyond.
“It is remarkable that something so inspiring to our community is also inspiring to the nation,” Wilemon said.

Burned Bible page found near wildfires sparks hope in Gatlinburg and beyond

(CNN)In times of great tragedy, people often look for signs of light in the darkness.

They looked for it after the Orlando nightclub shooting. They looked for it after the horrific flooding earlier this year in Louisiana.
And now they’re looking for it after this week’s deadly wildfires around Gatlinburg, Tennessee. And some found it in a burned Bible page that an amusement park employee says he picked up.
Isaac McCord, an employee at Dollywood, and a coworker were helping clean up the theme park, which had to be evacuated when flames neared its gates.
Under a bench, McCord said he found a partially burned page from the Bible.
What’s readable is part of the first chapter of the book of Joel: “O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.”
“It was one of the most surreal moments of my life, both emotionally and spiritually,” McCord told CNN. “I was in utter shock when I read what I found. At first I just thought it was maybe a piece of newspaper or maybe a magazine but I was curious to see if I could find out where it came from, or how far it traveled… so I got down on my knees to get a better look and realized it was a page from the Bible.”
McCord immediately took a picture of what he’d found and posted it to Facebook, where it’s been shared tens of thousands of times.
Many commenters took it as a sign from God.
“This is a fall on your knees moment,” one woman wrote. “Prayers for Gatlinburg and all of us.”
“I have goosebumps. Makes you wonder,” another woman wrote.

Action Speaks Louder than Words

prayvote

Are you deciding which candidate to vote for by their words or their actions? Actions speak louder than words. Words are important and can be revealing but it is a person’s actions that show what they ultimately decided. Words can be carelessly spoken but an action is a deliberate endeavor. Have we not all uttered words we have regretted. Words are sometimes spoken to impress another or influence them to a false notion. Words can be disputed but actions hold the evidence. To take offense from a statement made without taking into consideration the person’s actions is an injustice since the intent behind the statement cannot be seen. The words people say loosely are not always perceived fairly. Politicians gear their words around political correctness. Politically correct words are well thought out words that covers up the truth of a matter. The dishonesty of political correctness has corrupted life in America. It is truth that will restore greatness to America. Vote for America’s future.

Overcome Life’s Storms

jesus calling peter.jpgThe Lord is able to bring us through any storm we face in life. The way to victory is to keep our eyes fixed upon Him. Peter began to walk on water in the midst of a storm. It is when his eyes left Jesus and he looked at the fierce storm that surrounded him it was then he began to fall. Even though Jesus was right there offering him help he had doubt in His saving power. Victory over the storm was readily available and extended towards him. A miracle was in his reach in spite of the storm’s intensity. The only thing needed was for him to trust in what Christ said. He could have walked on water and reached the other side. If we fall down give yourself grace. Peter fell a few times before he got up and went on to establish the first Church. Peter denied Christ three times before he was able to deny his feelings and walk in the strength and power of Christ.
